New Year, New Plans

New Year, New Plans

As its the new year now and all the chaos of christmas has passed, I thought it would be a great time to start blogging for Yarn Worx.

The website launched in November 2019 and I have been so pleased with the response so far. Starting a new business for me has been equal measures of exciting but also terrifying! There was no budget for fancy web designers so the whole website has been built by yours truly and my wonderful husband. Luckily he knows more about computers and websites than I do so was able to fix things when they didn't quite work how I thought they would! I'm always happy to get feedback if you think anything needs adding/changing etc.

I have spent most of today putting together some Cooma Cowl kits for the website. The Cooma Cowl knitting pattern is from pattern designer, Laura Dobratz who is based in Florida, USA. Laura has an amazing yarn store, Four Purls which is a must visit for any yarnie when holidaying in Florida.

The kit contains all of the yarn you will need which is a skein of Marvelous Mohair and 5 20g mini skeins of Practically Perfect Sock. Laura has kindly gifted 20 patterns to us so that we can share the love here in the UK so the kits are currently at a reduced price so even more reason to grab one now! If you wanted to make the cowl in just one colour, then you could use a full skein of practically perfect sock or Super Silky instead of the 5 different mini skeins.

I will be adding more project kits to the website this week with more of Laura's designs and Emma's Yarn.

Anyway, enough of me rambling on for now. I'll be back soon.

Lockdown Project - Diadem Shawl

June 04, 2020

I don’t know about you but lockdown has been such a mixed bag of emotions.
I started lockdown in March with high hopes and long lists of plans. As time has gone on, my motivation has fluctuated and I have often found myself being far less productive than I had originally hoped. Even my motivation to crochet hasn’t always been there and I thought that would never be the case!
