  • These Cohana lacquer scissors are handmade with traditional lacquer handles which feel warm in the hand. The super sharp pointed blades are made from steel by Hasegawa in Seki, Gifu Prefecture, a region of Japan renowned for blade manufacture. Hasegawa have been making edged tools since 1933.

    There is a gold and silver tassel attached to the handle and the scissors come with a real leather pouch and a large polishing cloth. Comes housed in a wooden box finished with an elastic ribbon.

    Cohana, the Japanese brand is renowned worldwide for making beautiful, high quality handicraft tools. 

    The small silk tassels are carefully handmade by Imasato, a specialist in tassels and knots founded in 1907 and located in Yame, Fukuoka Prefecture. They have been making tassels for Chohin paper lanterns for over 100 years which are a traditional handicraft.
