    • Black Elephant's fingering weight yarn is 100% British Blue Faced Leicester and we absolutely love this base! This yarn has a lovely twist and would make beautiful shawls, scarves and garments.  We also love that it is 100% British. The skein is 110g and gives you approx 385 metres.

    • Petra is the indie dyer behind Black Elephant yarns. Petra was originally from Slovakia but has been based in Sheffield now for almost 10 years. She started her first blog - hladko obratko (knit purl) where she made knitting video's in Slovakian using all of the English speaking videos which she had learnt from. Not long after this, Petra discovered her love and talent for hand dying yarn and from there, Black Elephant was born.

      Petra only uses mulesing free yarn which is ethically sourced.
