Opal is a very popular commercial sock yarn which has been on the market for many years. It has the perfect balance of softness and durability due to its blend of Superwash virgin wool and polyamide. Each 100g ball provides 425 metres of yarn which is plenty long enough to make a fabulous pair of hand knitted socks.
This popular sock yarn is absorbent and resistant to felting. It is also machine washable and is also suitable for knitting machines.
Schafpate literally means “Sheep Godfather”. These sock yarn colourways are named after individual rare breed sheep from Germany; Kim, Thelma, Sunny, Claire, Kate, Charlie, George, Princess and Sweet Pea.
