Aran / Worsted Weight Yarn
Aran wool is one weight heavier than our popular Double Knit yarns. It is also known as Worsted weight yarn and sometimes referred to as fisherman’s wool, due to its origination in the Celtic Aran Islands. Aran weight yarn is a great medium weight choice for those who are crafting jumpers, baby blankets or scarves. We’d recommend partnering it up with a 4mm or 5mm knitting needle or crochet hook.
Aran or worsted weight yarn UK

Worsted weight yarn is thicker than DK yarn and thinner than bulky or chunky yarn. This yarn weight can be used for any number of items including jumpers, hats, scarves and slipper socks. Garments knit with Aran/worsted weight yarn will be thick and warm- great for extra cold weather.
