  • Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair is a lace weight yarn. It is a luxurious blend of the finest Kid Mohair and Mulberry silk. It comes from angora goats which are bred in South Africa and the yarn is also produced locally. The wool can be traced back to the farm it comes from. In this way, they know exactly which farm, farmers, and sheep made the wool.

This Soft Silk Mohair is certified sustainable and is produced to RMS (Responsible Mohair Standard). The yarn is produced with highest respect for the animal's wellbeing, and with social responsibility in mind. The spinning mill follows ethical, technical and environmental standards, creating yarns which are free from harmful chemicals.

The Silk in this Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair is cruelty free. The silk fibres are collected from cocoons after the chrysalises are allowed to mature into moths and escape. This means that the silk worms are not killed in the process as they commonly are in conventional silk production.

The yarn is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified.

  • Knitting for Olive makes knitting patterns for the ones you love – and now for you, too.

At the end of 2015, they started selling knitting patterns for babies and toddlers. They quickly expanded to children’s sizes as well, and in 2018 they designed our first adult-sized patterns.

To be able to give you the best knitting experience, they decided to offer Knitting for Olive yarns. Our vision is to offer high-quality yarns made of pure natural fibres created with respect for both the animals and our environment.

They are a family-run business based in Copenhagen. They are surrounded by lots of kids, who give us countless inspiration and ideas.
