Knitting for Olive UK
Knitting for Olive started out creating knitting patterns for children in 2015. Over the years, they branched out into adult patterns, and now into yarns! Their aim is to provide luxurious, natural yarns that meet a wide range of ethical and environmental standards.
How is Knitting for Olive yarn made?
Merino
Knitting for Olive merino uses merino wool from sheep in Patagonia. Mulesing is not practiced there and Knitting for Olive is able to trace the wool right back to the farms where it was harvested. The yarn is then spun is Italy.
Mohair
Knitting for Olive mohair comes from angora goats in South Africa. Knitting for Olive can trace their mohair back to the farms it came from. They also achieved the Responsible Mohair Standard or RMS certification, which means the mohair is ethically produced.
Silk
Knitting for Olive also uses ethical silk. The silkworms are allowed to mature and hatch from the cocoons before the silk is harvested.
