Irish Artisan Yarn was launched by Tara Osborough who is an award winning textile designer with many years experience. The colours used are greatly influenced by the wonderful Irish Landscapes where Tara grew up and where her family still live. All yarns are hand dyed and painted in Ireland. Tara uses some luxurious bases such as Alpaca silk which are wonderful for hand made garments/shawls.
Irish Artisan Yarns was founded by talented textile designer Tara Osborough. Admirers of her woven textiles wanted to be able to craft similar items for themselves and requested that she design a commercial yarn that they could use.
Drawing on the colours of the Irish landscape she grew up in, Tara launched Irish Artisan Yarn!
Is Irish Artisan Yarn hand dyed?
Each skein of Irish Artisan Yarn is hand-dyed with colours inspired by the beautiful Irish Landscape. The process of hand-dying the yarn means that only five skeins can be produced at a time and each one is unique. Because of this, the colourways are very limited and exclusive.
But don’t worry! New yarn is being dyed all the time to keep the stock from running out.
Is Irish Artisan Yarn machine washable?
Irish Artisan Yarn is machine washable at 30 degrees gentle wool wash.
