  • Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino is an Aran / Worsted weight yarn that is made from 100% Merino wool. The yarn has a beautiful and natural structure which is delightfully soft and a pleasure to knit or crochet with. This merino wool comes from sheep bred in Patagonia, South America where mulesing is not practiced. The wool used in each ball can be traced directly back to the farm and individual animal that it came from.

Merino wool has many excellent properties. It is temperature-regulating. That is, the wool keeps our bodies warm in cold weather, and releases heat in warm weather, keeping our skin cool. At the same time, wool, like silk, can carry moisture away from the skin, and can absorb 30% of its weight without feeling wet.

Wool is also dirt-repellent and requires minimal care.

The yarn is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified.

The yarn is produced in Italy. The spinning mill follows ethical, technical and environmental standards, creating yarns free from harmful chemicals.

  • Knitting for Olive makes knitting patterns for the ones you love – and now for you, too.

At the end of 2015, they started selling knitting patterns for babies and toddlers. They quickly expanded to children’s sizes as well, and in 2018 they designed our first adult-sized patterns.

To be able to give you the best knitting experience, they decided to offer Knitting for Olive yarns. Our vision is to offer high-quality yarns made of pure natural fibres created with respect for both the animals and our environment.

They are a family-run business based in Copenhagen. They are surrounded by lots of kids, who give us countless inspiration and ideas.
